Out-Of-School Time Scholarship

Shepherd PTO wanted to make sure families were aware of Activity Scholarships for DC Students through Learn24’s Out-of-School-Time (OST) Youth Scholarship Program. The OST Youth Scholarship Program is a new program, managed by the Greater Washington Community Foundation, with the goal of increasing access to OST programs for students with specific needs. Specifically, the program will support students who may be identified as at-risk.

Who: Anyone who is at risk should apply ANYTIME - applications are rolling

Students who are not at-risk are eligible for funding on a limited bases, with a higher chance of getting funding in April and May than later in the grant cycle. You should apply NOW. 1/3 of grant recipients are not at risk.

How to apply: https://www.thecommunityfoundation.org/ost-scholarships

How does it work? Apply through the link. Decisions takes about 4 weeks. Money, between $1,000 and $10,000 goes directly to the vendor. This is DC funded program the Community Foundation is managing.

If you still have questions, email info@shepherd-elementary.org and we will ask the community foundation staff.
